Here’s everything we know about Final Destination 6 so far. Anyway! Fortunately, weed is legal in more places than it was 10 years ago for any high schoolers wanting to binge the films and ponder the nature of fate and “how every single thing leads you to another thing,” and other high thoughts.

And even though I’m no longer a high school stoner, the tiny mechanisms that propel these characters’ certain deaths feel just as mesmerizing as ever, especially when we as a world are thinking a lot more about death from larger forces, say, a pandemic. Any five-minute clip from any of the movies would go viral on Twitter now - from the time someone burned alive in a tanning bed to the time someone got their arm cut off in a garbage disposal.

The world feels ripe for a Final Destination return.
FINAL DESTINATION 1 OFFICIAL TRAILER SERIES
Final Destination 6 - the first installment in a decade of the campy thriller series about a million ways to die - is being rebooted for HBO Max, according to The Hollywood Reporter. While reboots are typically entertaining fan fiction at best and massively uncomfortable at worst (see the four words: “Hey, it’s Che Diaz” on Twitter), a constant need for networks, studios, and streaming services to one up each other in the behemoth that is entertainment in 2022, have all bug guaranteed that we’re bound to see more unoriginal content in varying degrees of original ways.īut some of these reboots and sequels are going to be better than others, and this week - the latest installment in the Final Destination series is giving us hope. Warner Brothers will be bringing The Final Destination to theaters everywhere on August 28th.A firehose of reboots and sequels keep coming and no matter how badly we want it to end, the stream will never stop. The screenplay was written by Eric Bress, of Final Destination 2, The Butterfly Effect, and most episodes of "Kyle XY" on TV. Ellis, who directed Final Destination 2, Cellular, and Snakes on a Plane previously, but began as a stunt coordinator and second unit director. The Final Destination is directed again by David R. Anyway, check out the poster below and stay tuned for a trailer sometime soon.Īpparently this will be different than previous movies, because the opening will "take place somewhere that people willingly place themselves among accidents of human tragedy." Any idea what that means?

Actually, I'm wondering if they're underplaying 3D as much as they can, because this was once known as Final Destination: Death Trip 3D, but that last half of the title has since been dropped (for reasons unknown). Oddly, this poster makes no mention of that, which is a good thing. I'm guessing that Warner Brothers has changed the title on this because they want to emphasize that it's the final sequel (or is it?) and that it's also going to be in 3D. The first official teaser poster for The Final Destination, aka Final Destination 4, has debuted on UGO.
